Andy Farrell: A Rugby Journey

Andy Farrell is a highly decorated Rugby League player who represented Wigan for over a decade, making 370 appearances. He became the youngest player to win a Challenge Cup Final when at age 17 when coming on against Widnes. Not long after, at age 18, he made his international debut against New Zealand. He won sic Championships and four Challenge Cups.

Before making the move to Union he represented Great Britain and England. In 2005 he made the move to Saracens and went on to make his England debut in 2007. Two years later he announced his retirement from playing both codes and went into coaching. He stayed at Saracens until 2012 where he then moved to the England assitant role until 2015 before joining Ireland under Joe Schmidt (He held a brief consultant role at Munster due to his England contract preventing him from coaching an international team). 

He went on two Lions tours as coach, 2013 and 2017 as defence coach, before taking up the head coach role ahead of the 2025 tour to Australia.

Following being dumped by England he made his name in Ireland where he first assisted the national team before taking on the head coach role in 2019 where he launched Irish rugby to new heights with a 6 Nations win, World Number One Ranking as well as an away series win in New Zealand.
