Brennan grew up in a small village called Ballyvaughan in County Clare. From a young age, he started playing for Galwegians.
He was part of the Leinster underage system from U-18s right through to U-20s, and was capped at Ireland U-18s schools level.
In 2017, Brennan was promoted into the senior setup with Connacht.
