Ulster take an 11-3 lead over Connacht into halftime. Ulster opened the scoring with an early penalty and shortly after went over for a try to lead 8-0. Connacht pulled three points back with a penalty, but that was cancelled out by Ulster who slotted a penalty with the final play of the half.
