Born and raised in Shrewsbury, England, Peter Edwards joined the Scarlets in 2010. Before joining the region, Edwards played rugby for Newtown, North Wales, Llanelli RFC and Llandovery. He previously worked as a farmer and a construction worker before he was handed a professional contract.
Edwards joined Merthyr RFC at the end of his deal with the Scarlets in 2017.
