He and Slade got caught a few times out on defence in the first half. A few strong carries and beat 5 defenders but Australia kept him under their radar. In the 75min he overruns a pass from Ford that leads to Australia scoring a try. He would not be happy with conceding 3 turnovers

Henry Slade 6/10

Slade is a classy player but he was not his best in this match. England was always going to be under pressure if their inside center only made 50% of his tackles (5/10) and conceding 2 turnovers. He and Lawrence got also got caught a few times out on defence in the first half

Tommy Freeman 7/10

The Saints winger played 80min and had a great game. Had to live from scraps in the first half but was strong on attack. He made 7 tackles and missed 0. Freeman made 1 clean break and threw 2 offloads.

Marcus Smith 8/10

Smith pulled the strings on attack getting his players into spaces. In the 57min he takes the ball to the line and a small grubber for Sleightholme to score down the blind is beautiful. Two mins later he makes a strong tackle after Australia entered their 22 and got the turnover. Moved to fullback on 60min and links up with Ford a few times on attack. The Quins man can be happy with his match.

Ben Spencer 7/10

Accurate box kicks from the Bath scrumhalf and also made good decisions on attack.Left the field on 60min. He made 59 passes and three tackles. 

Ellis Genge 8/10

Strong in the scrum and won a penalty in the 30th min. Missed a crucial tackle in the 34rd min that led to Australia scoring a try. Genge made 10 tackles and had 1 try assist in his 61mins

Jamie George (captain) 7/10

Strong in the scrum and won a penalty in the 30th min. The england captain made 11 tackles but missed a vital one in the 50th min that led to Australia scoring their 3rd try

Will Stuart 6/10

Strong in the scrum andon a penalty in the 30th min. Was accurate on attacking breakdowns. Left the fied with 13min left

Maro Itoje 6/10

Clean lineout takes for the Saracens lock and scored a try for England in the 78 min. From thet kick off he knocked on that led to Australia scoring the winning try. He made a masive 22 tackles and only missed 3.

George Martin 5/10

Good defence around the rucks until the 33rd min when he was caught out just outside their own 22 for Australia to score. Left the field on 60min.

Chandler Cunningham-South 8/10

Scored the opening two tries. Penalty agains him for obstruction in the 39min gave Australia a great attacking oppertunity that led to them kicking a penalty. He made 18 tackles and missed 4.

Strong carries in the midfield off lineouts got England over the advantage line. In the 66min he picked up the ball from the scrum but ran his wing into touch, not a good decision from the England 8. He made 21 tackles and only missed 1

Came on in the 51st min and straight off his feet at the next breakdown but lifted the tempo with strong carries. On target with his lineout throws

A pillar when England wanted to maul. Played for 20mins. Was strong in the scrums

Came on with 13min left for his 117 test match. He was strong in the scrums and good lineout lifts

Came on for Curry in the 23rd minute. The Quins number 8 should be a started next week. Every of his 5 carries was strong and he made 12 tackles and missed 2.

Played 20mins. Stronger passes than last weekend from the 26 year old and he can be happy with his game

George Ford 7/10

Played 20mins. The first 5min he was on he had forwards running off him that got England into Australia's 22. When Australia started to kick more in the last few minutes he fell back with Smith and was safe under the high balls

Ollie Sleightholme 9/10

Got a chance in the 36min for a chip to score but the ball went in field. Stopped a try in the 52 min. First test at Twickenham and he scored a try in the 52 and 67 min. He made 3 clean breaks but the 3 turnovers conceded is something the Saints man would like to work on.
