- 5010
Lyon have confirmed the signing of six players ahead of the 2020/21 season with two of the six players returning to the club.
The two returning players include former France International, Mathieu Bastareaud who returns to the TOP14 club after a stint in America with Rugby United New York.
Bastareaud has signed a two year deal with the club while scrumhalf Leo Berdeu also returns the club after a two-year stint with Agen.
Australian flanker Colby Fainga'a joins Lyon from Connacht and is joined by fellow countryman Izack Rodda who left the Reds last month. Rodda was one of three Reds' players who refused to take pay cuts of an average 60% that their Australian Super Rugby counterparts accepted. He joins the TOP14 club on a single season contact.
Lyon have recruited another second-rower in Gillian Galan with the 28-year-old joining the club having spent a decade at Toulouse.
Finally, Lyon have also confirmed the signing of highly-rated USA hooker Joe Taufete'e who joins the club from Premiership club Worcester Warriors. The former American Football player made the switch to Rugby Union in 2011 and has since gone on to score more tries in test rugby than any other hooker touching down 20 times in just 27 tests.
