Match Facts
Scotland have won their last four matches against England in the Guinness Men’s Six Nations, all those victories coming by single figure margins, that is as many victories as they’d managed in their previous 21 Championship clashes in total (D2 L15).
England won each of their first nine Guinness Six Nations home matches against Scotland since 2000, but have now not beaten them at the Allianz Stadium since 2017, drawing in 2019 and losing in 2021 and 2023.
England are on a three-game winning streak at home in the Guinness Men’s Six Nations, the last time they enjoyed a longer such run was a 15-game glut between 2012 and 2018, a run that spanned the Stuart Lancaster and Eddie Jones coaching eras.
Scotland have won eight of their last 10 men’s Test matches, their only defeats in that time coming against the top two ranked countries in World Rugby, South Africa and Ireland, their eight victories in this run have come by an average margin of 32 points.
England have made the most kicks in play (84) of any side in this year’s Guinness Men’s Six Nations, Scotland have made the fewest (46); 15 of England’s kicks have been grubber kicks, no other side has made more than eight such kicks (Scotland 1).
Scotland have managed the quickest attacking ruck speed (3.3s average) of any side at this 2025 Guinness Men’s Six Nations, whilst England have been the slowest (4.8s), Scotland’s tally of 235 rucks is the highest of any side, and reflects the fact they’ve had more possession (58%) than anyone else.
England have won nine turnovers from jackals at the 2025 Men’s Six Nations after two rounds, more than any other side with Tom Curry (4) winning twice as many as any other player (Ben Earl and Lorenzo Cannone, both 2).
Scotland have made more offloads (23) than any other side after two rounds of the 2025 Guinness Men’s Six Nations, individually the top three players all represent Scotland, Blair Kinghorn, Jonny Gray and Rory Darge all making five so far; Tommy Freeman (2) is the only England player to make more than one.
Scotland’s record try-scorer (31), Duhan van der Merwe, crossed for his 15th Guinness Men’s Six Nations try in Round 2, only Stuart Hogg has scored more for Scotland in the Championship (16, Huw Jones also 15); van der Merwe also beat five defenders in the match, meaning he became the seventh player from any side to reach 100 defenders beaten in the Championship (102 overall).
Scotland captain, Rory Darge, has hit more attacking rucks (65) than any other player in this year’s Guinness Men’s Six Nations, ahead of Maro Itoje (62) in second spot and then the Fagerson brothers in third and fourth (Zander 58, Matt 54), he also tops the charts for dominant tackles (6) and offloads (joint top on 5).
