Bulls confirm date, time and venue for Lyon clash
- 1800
The Vodacom Bulls’ kick-off time and date for their round of 16 clash against Lyon has now been confirmed. The Tshwane-based side will welcome to the capital their French counterparts for what is destined to be an epic showdown in the 2023/24 Investec Champions Cup.
The two fierce competitors will square off on Saturday 06 April with the whistle going off at 13h30 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium. Tickets start from R 50.00c and can be purchased through TicketPro.
What makes this a tantalising meeting is the already bubbling history between the two clubs. Both have registered home wins against one another over the last two seasons of the competition. In their debut season, the Vodacom Bulls dispatched the 2022 Challenge Cup winner 42-36 as Bernard van der Linde put on display a player-of-the-match performance with a hat-trick of tries. Earlier this season, Le LOU returned the favour as they narrowly edged out a determined Vodacom Bulls 29-28 in the Southeast of France.
The hosts will be hoping their momentum shown throughout the Pool fixtures will continue when the competition resumes, looking to advance beyond the round of 16 which is where they dropped off in their debut season. The visitors will be looking to better their 2022/23 showing, having dropped off to the Challenge Cup after finishing outside the top 8 of their pool.
Whatever motivates either side, what awaits is an exciting clash of the titans who will be gunning to take a further step towards booking their place for that memorable afternoon in London on the 25th of May.
The winner of this match will book their place in the Quarter-finals where they will go head-to-head against Northampton Saints or Munster Rugby (who play on Sunday 7 April at 12h00).
