Born in Suva, Fiji, Netani moved to the UK in 2006 to play for Doncaster Knights before catching the eye of Worcester Warriors the following season.
After making 55 appearances for the West Midlands outfit, he moved north to Edinburgh for three seasons, followed by a year in Wales at Newport Gwent Dragons.
At 6'2" and almost 18st Talei is a well travelled man having been contracted to the Highlanders, Worcester, Doncaster, Edinburgh and now Harlequins.
Making his Fijian debut in 2006 he has 33 Test caps which include appearances in the 2007, 2011 and 2015 Rugby World Cups.
Joining Harlequins in January 2015, Netani made his debut in the LV= Cup against Bath Rugby and has made eight senior appearance.
In May 2017, Harlequins loose forward Netani Talei has today has announced that he will retire from the game following medical advice.
