After debuting for Wellington in 2003, Tialata's skills made him recognized into the All Blacks selection frame with his strong play for Wellington throughout the 2005 season made his Test debut in the first match of the All Blacks UK & Ireland Tour in November.
After 8 seasons with the Hurricanes from 2004, he signed with Top 14 side Bayonne from 2011-2014 before a move to Narbonne.
