Start Berry brings an end to an entertaining game of rugby when Habana knocks on inches from the Cheetahs' line. No four try bonus point for the Stormers, but a convincing win all the same. Poor finishing by the Cheetahs, who started promisingly, but provided a lacklustre performance in the second. Thanks for joining us, see you next time!
End to end stuff - de Jongh intercepts the ball in Stormer territory, scooping up a wayward pass and tearing down-field. He's brought down just inside the Cheetah's twenty-two and the support arrives. The ball is then spread wide to exploit a heavy overlap, and eventually Habana crosses unopposed. Pieterson draws the conversion wide from a difficult position by the touchline.
Stormers build their way back into the Cheetahs' half and begin to batter the defences. After a number of phases, Schreuder feeds the ball back inside to Kolisi (against the run of play), who collects on a scything line, and crashes over for the try. The Cheetahs' defence starting to look a lot less sturdy..
Cheetahs earn the chance to scrape back some points when Kitshoff is pinged for not rolling away. Smit steps up but his kick swerves wide of the posts. Interestingly, that's only the 4th penalty conceded by the Stormers.
Indiscipline from the Cheetahs stifling their efforts, and keeping the scoreboard ticking in favour of the Stormers. This time they infringe at the break down, and Pieterson makes no mistakes with the kick.
Adrian Strauss reads a Stormer pass perfectly and rushes out of the line to cut down Nizaam Carr. But he mistimes the tackle and takes Carr without the ball. Referee spots it and awards the penalty - which Pieterson converts to points.
Stormers clear the ball into touch, signalling the half time whistle. Fourie's late try puts his side in front, but the Cheetahs are far from beaten. The visitors have looked the superior side at times and have been phenomenal in defence. It's been a hugely physical first half, typical of a South African derby, and both sides will welcome the rest that half time offers. Exciting second half still to come.
Stormers having to work very hard for their points, but eventually they come. After 18 phases inside the Cheetahs half, the pressure begins to tell, and the visitors concede a penalty. Captain Fourie points to the corner and the Stormers set the line-out. They secure possession, construct the rolling maul, and crash over for the try. Fourie surfaces with ball in hand, and Pieterson converts.
Cheetahs infringe at the breakdown and gift the Stormers with a chance to draw level. Pieterson steps up and guides it over from long range.
Strauss shoots out of the line attempting to intercept Jantjies pass - but the ball spills from his hands, and Stormers recover. They fling the ball wide to Aplon who tears down the wing. The zippy winger looks to beat the final defender with a chip ahead - but the execution is poor and the ball trickles into touch. Opportunity lost.
