La Rochelle survive a ferocious Montpellier fight back as they hold on for a 40-37 home win after they led 16-13 at halftime. Three La Rochelle tries looked to have taken the game away from Montpellier as the hosts led 40-16 heading into the final 10 minutes. However, Montpellier crossed for three tries in quick succession to get right back into the match with a minute to play. Montpellier nearly secured a remarkable come back as they were denied a try by the TMO with the final play of the match.
