Tonga edge Italy 19-17 with a penalty kick with time up on the clock. The match was tight throughout as Italy took a 7-3 lead into the break. Tonga added another penalty before crossing to lead 13-7, however, Italy responded immediately with a try of their own to regain the lead at 14-13. A penalty put Tonga back in front, but the sea-saw battle continued as a penalty to Italy with 2 minutes to play saw them edge ahead. Tonga would have the final say as they kicked the winning penalty with time up on the clock to snatch an impressive victory.
