An outstanding second half performance sees New Zealand run out 41-32 winners over England after they trailed 17-10 at the break. An early second half try saw New Zealand level things up, but an English penalty soon after saw them back in front at 20-17. New Zealand hit back immediately with a try moving them in front 24-20. England responded with a try soon after to regain the lead by a single point at 25-24. However, three tries for New Zealand in ten minutes saw them take the game away from England at 41-25. England kept fighting and bagged a late try, but it was too little too late as New Zealand became World Champions for a 5th time.
