An early second half penalty for Stade Francais was followed by a try soon after as they went ahead 16-12. Edinburgh responded immediately with their first try to regain the lead 19-16. A Stade Francais penalty leveled the score before they crossed for their second try to hit the front at 26-19 with just under a quarter of the match to play. Edinburgh ran in the next try to reduce the deficit to just two points and took the lead with a penalty entering the final ten minutes. The sea-saw battle continued as Stade Francais scored straight after to lead 33-27. However, Edinburgh would have the final say as they scored their third try, with the ensuing conversion handing them the victory by the slightest of margins in a pulsating match.
