A late bloomer on the rugby scene, Rodgers first made a name for himself in the Varsity Cup with the University of Cape Town in 2008. Able to prop on both sides of the scrum, Griquas quickly snapped up his talents for the 2010 Vodacom Cup. Signing with Connacht later in the same year, Rogers enjoyed two seasons with the Irish Province before returning to South Africa to play for the Western Province Vodacom team in 2013.
