Scarlets vs. Munster Top Performers
- 1033
Rhys Patchell
The Wales fly-half was introduced with 26 minutes remaining in the close encounter at the Parc y Scarlets and helped his side earn victory in a close fought battle. Patchell pinged Munster back into their own half in difficult conditions as the away side started to take a foot hold in the game. His accuracy of hitting corners ensured Munster were placed under intense pressure trying to clear their lines, and the Irish province coughed up multiples errors from his kicks which led to a valuable home win.
Uzair Cassiem
The Springbok No. 8 put in a massive shift for his side as he led the defensive effort on the night, regularly taking down Munster ball carriers and halting them on the advantage line. He topped the total tackles chart with an incredible 30 successful tackles.
Leigh Halfpenny
The Welsh full back, on just his second game back from a four month absence, was a stand out for his side in a tactical encounter in West Wales. Halfpenny positional sense and reliability under the high ball helped to defuse the Munster kicking game and he covered the back field intelligently, showing his wealth of experience and influence on the side. His last two games will have brought him into the Wales selectors sights and hopefully we see him back in action against Scotland.
