Felipe Etcheverry was born and raised in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Etcheverry made his international debut for Uruguay against Russia on 4 June 2019.

He was included in the Uruguayan squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup which was held in Japan for the first time and also marked his first World Cup appearance.

In 2022, He competed for Uruguay at the Rugby World Cup Sevens in Cape Town.

In the 22/23 Super Rugby Americas season, Etcheverry played 14 matches for Penarol scoring 2 tries, 15 penalties and 1 drop goal. He scored a total of 130 points in the season.

Ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023, Etcheverry has been named in the squad for Uruguay.
