The Limerick man became a professional rugby player in 2001 when he signed for Connacht. He spent two years with the club before returning to Munster in 2003.
He spent two seasons at Munster making 27 league appearances. Former Ireland and Connacht coach Warren Gatland signed Reddan at London Wasps in 2005, where he succeeded Matt Dawson to become first choice scrum half, winning both a Heineken Cup in 2007 and the 2008 Guinness Premiership.
He joined Leinster in the summer of 2009 on a three-year contract and went on to win two Heineken cups with Leinster in 2011 and 2012. Reddan made his 100th appearance for Leinster during their Pro12 Grand Final play off game against Ulster on the 17th of May 2014.
He made his senior international debut in the 2006 Six Nations as a replacement against France at the Stade de France. He has since made over 50 appearances for his country. Reddan has long been an established as a senior member of the Irish setup and at the time of writing, and was selected in Ireland's final 31 man squad for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
Before having made his 71st cap for Ireland, Reddan announced his retirement on June 23rd 2016 to take up an opportunity in the world of aviation finance.
