Eves was in the Hurricanes' Wider Training Group in 2014, but was called up to the full squad as injury cover early in the campaign and ended up coming off the bench in 11 of 16 matches.
He gained a contract for the start of the 2015 season. Eves can be described as powerful, active prop.
He started out at North Harbour before shifting south to Wellington and then to Manawatu where he has stood out playing for the Turbos. He was named in the Maori All Blacks team to tour North America in 2013.
In May 2016, he was one of the players dropped by the Hurricanes following a late night out and breaking the curfew.
North Harbour then confirmed to have signed the prop for the 2017/18 Mitre 10 Cup season.
Eves was re-called into the Hurricanes squad for the 2017 Super Rugby season. He has 45 Super Rugby caps to his name, since making his debut in 2014.
Eves played in all 17 of the Hurricanes 2017 Super Rugby matches, as well as the match against the British and Irish Lions.
He also represented the Maori All Blacks against the British and Irish Lions.
Eves helped North Harbour to the Premiership semifinals of the Mitre 10 Cup and was named the Maori All Blacks squad for their end of year tour.
He took his cap tally to 62 for the Hurricanes in 2017 and adds experience and explosiveness to the engine room. He is widely known for his ball carrying ability, but is a more than capable scrummager and is
incredibly durable.
Ahead of the 2019 Mitre 10 Cup season he announced a move to Bay of Plenty and announced a move to Major League rugby ahead of the 2020 season
He has been included in the Sunwolves 2020 Super Rugby season.
