David was named in the Ireland U20 squad for the World Rugby U-20 Championship in Georgia.
The Garryowen centre has been playing in the UBL 1A and excelling for the Munster club.
McCarthy was once again included in the Ireland U20 squad for the 2018 Six Nations.
