Underhill disciplinary update following Pau fixture

The club can provide an update on Sam Underhill's availability for selection following the conclusion of his independent disciplinary committee hearing in relation to the Euro fixture against Pau.
Bath Rugby’s Sam Underhill appeared before an independent disciplinary committee yesterday (Tuesday) evening via video link, having received a red card for an act of foul play contrary to Law 9.13 during the club’s EPCR Challenge Cup Round of 16 match against Section Paloise at the Stade du Hameau on Friday 4 April.
Underhill accepted that he had committed an act of foul play, but did not accept it warranted a red card. However, the independent disciplinary committee upheld the referee’s decision.
The independent disciplinary committee decided the offending was at the mid-range of World Rugby’s sanctions, and selected six weeks as the appropriate entry point.
Considering the player’s acceptance of the charge, his good disciplinary record and full cooperation with the disciplinary process, the independent disciplinary committee elected to apply the full 50% mitigation and reduced the sanction to three weeks/matches.
The suspension will cover the following games:
Sunday 13 April – Bath Rugby vs Gloucester Rugby, EPCR Challenge Cup quarter-final
Saturday 19 April – Exeter Chiefs vs Bath Rugby, Gallagher Premiership Round 14
Saturday 26 April – Bath Rugby vs Newcastle Falcons, Gallagher Premiership Round 15*
*If Underhill applies for and successfully completes a World Rugby Coaching intervention course, he will be free to play on Monday 21 April.
