France take a 23-10 lead over Italy into halftime. France were completely dominant in the opening 20 minutes, slotting an early penalty and running in two tries to build a 13-0 lead. Italy hit back a try and a penalty shortly after reduced the deficit to just three points at 13-10. France would finish the half strongly, adding a penalty before crossing for their third try just before the break for a 13 point advantage.
