Daniel, born in Dublin and moved to France at the age of 5 when his Dad, Trevor Brennan, signed for Toulouse. He progressed through the youth ranks with Toulouse, where his dad won two Heineken Cups as a player.
He made his debut for the French U17 side against the USA in 2015, going on to captain the team to a 28-26 win over England.
Daniel was then called to the France U20 squad featured at the 2017 & 2018 Six Nations, winning the 2018 tournament, and went on to win the U20 World championships on home soil in 2018 too.
He became the first Irishman to win a World Rugby U20 Championship medal at the 2018 tournament.
He joined Montpellier on a 3-year deal ahead of the 2018/19 season.
