A talented flanker Steven Meiring attended Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool and went on to play for Shimlas in the Varsity Cup.
His impressive showing with the Shimlas lead to a contract with the Griquas.
In 2017 he left the Griquas and joined the Cheetahs.
