Wayland was born in Sydney and played for Southern Districts in the Shute Shield from 2017 until he made the move to Jersey earlier in July 2019.
A keen all-round sportsman, he has also played baseball and rugby league.
In July 2019, he signed a deal with Championship club Jersey Reds ahead of the 2018/19 season.
