Prendergast started his career at Bourgoin, while also playing a season each at Gloucester and Munster.
In 2013, he was appointed as skills coach at Grenoble before accepting a role at Stade Francais.
After a year at Stade, it was confirmed that Prendergast will join Racing 92 as their new attack coach on a four-year deal.
