The Hurricanes take a 28-10 lead over the Sunwolves into halftime. The Sunwolves got off to the perfect start with an early try, but the Hurricanes leveled matters with a try shortly after. A penalty saw the Sunwolves in front 10-7, but the Hurricanes cut loose, running in three tries in ten minutes for a comfortable advantage at the break.
