Rugby Europe Championship reaching new heights
- 209

The Men’s Rugby Europe Championship prepares to go into the final few weeks of competition following a fallow week after three intense rounds of action.
Four teams booked automatic qualification to Rugby World Cup 2027 in Australia, with Georgia, Spain, Portugal and Romania all successful in their quest.
The jeopardy of the competition is still not over, however, with one remaining repechage spot to get to the next World Cup and this year’s Champions still to be crowned with semi-finals and finals on the horizon for the final two weekends.
The first three rounds have shown the rising success of the Championship, on and off the field, with several significant milestones and records already being surpassed from previous years.
With 55.000 spectators attending the first twelve matches of the competition, this edition represents an increase of 26% compared to last year.
Off the field, the 2025 Rugby Europe Championship has enjoyed significant coverage from the international media and broadcast partners:
- Record number of broadcasters: Each participating country has benefited from a live broadcast on their national linear channels: TVR in Romania, RTS in Switzerland, LN24 and VRT in Belgium, Imedi and Rugby TV in Georgia, Teledeporte in Spain, ProSieben in Germany) and best Sports TV channels (Sport TV in Portugal, Ziggo in Netherlands, FloRugby in North America) representing 87 Million households reached.
- More than 2 Million viewers watched the matches live across the globe on TV channels and streaming platforms.
- Viewers from 160 countries watched on Rugby Europe.TV with 44% coming from France and the U.K.
- The Rugby Europe website saw its highest attendance with half a million page views since the start of the competition.
- Fan interest on social media reached new heights with over 11m million views on content throughout the first three rounds, an increase of 83% from last season.
- The qualification of Spain generated more than 150 articles, representing a media valuation of 1.76 million Euros and a potential audience of 269 million.
