Flynn is a product of the Sale academy and has graduated into the first team in recent years. Initially down to be a travelling reserve to Adams Park, the former Stockport Grammar School captain was promoted to the replacements’ bench when Eifion Lewis Roberts fell ill on the eve of the match – then replaced Ross Harrison with six minutes of the game left.
A local boy, Flynn came through the junior ranks at Manchester Rugby Club before signing a dual-registration deal with the Jets and National League Two North side Stockport.
He currently boasts 39 caps for Sale.
