Cardiff make five changes for crucial Connacht clash

Cardiff Rugby have made five changes for their crucial European Challenge Cup clash with Connacht on Friday night (20:00).
The Blue & Blacks are within touching distance of the knockout stages of the competition but a win would guarantee a place in the last 16 and give the best possible chance of a home draw.
Four of the changes come in the back line with Ellis Bevan and Ben Thomas forming the half-back partnership, with the latter also captaining the side.
The midfield remains unchanged, while Gabriel Hamer-Webb has passed his return to play protocols to join Tom Bowen on the wing, while Jacob Beetham comes into the number 15 shirt.
Thomas Young has also been passed fit to return to the starting line-up after missing last week’s trip to Perpignan.
Cardiff head coach, Matt Sherratt said: “We have been consistent in saying that we want a knockout game at the Arms Park and we have the opportunity to do that on Friday night.
“That is our goal against a good Connacht team, who are well coached and have done very well so far in this competition.
“We have managed to pick up some points in France and now we have to back it up with a big performance. The boys are excited for the challenge ahead and determined to deliver a memorable night at the Arms Park.
“Our home support has been brilliant so far this season, they certainly give the players energy and can play a big role on Friday night.”
Meanwhile Efan Daniel returns from injury to line-up on the replacements bench.
