The Newcastle Falcons take a 10-0 lead over the Sale Sharks into halftime. The Falcons opened the scoring with a penalty just 5 minutes in to lead 3-0 but missed a kick at goal around the midpoint of the half. The Falcons piled on the pressure which saw Sale reduced to 14 players for repeated offences deep in their own territory. The Falcons capitalized immediately with a try 5 minutes from halftime for a ten point advantage at the break.
