Leinster take a 14-12 lead over Munster into halftime. The sides alternated an early penalty apiece before Leinster crossed for the game's first try after 16 minutes to lead 8-3. The sides then again traded penalties, but Munster were then able to keep the scoreboard ticking over, slotting a further two shots at goal to lead 12-11 just before halftime. However, Leinster would have the final say of the half, as another penalty with the final play sees them up by two points at the break.
