Having started out at as an Under 11 prop, Tebuho Zongwana transitioned into a number 5 lock forward at Under 14 level. He represented his school, Port Shepstone High School at first team level in 2012 and 2013. In 2014 Tebuho enrolled at Nelson Mandela Univerisity and played in the under 20 division known as the "Young Gunz" at college level.
