In 2015, at 24, Mulholland was a surprise inclusion in the Ulster senior side for a key PRO12 encounter, and he kept his place in the panel, proving he's one of the outstanding No.8s in Irish club.
At the end of the 2016-17 season, Mulholland was released from the club.
