Mafi joined Brisbane City's front row stocks after his first season of Premier Grade Rugby with Brothers.
The former Sydney University hooker went to school in Brisbane and played junior Rugby with Brisbane City centre Samu Kerevi at Sunnybank.
He spent four years in Sydney while studying at University and won a Colts premiership with Sydney University in 2011.
After 2 successful seasons with Brisbane City, Mafi was called into the Reds Super Rugby squad during the 2016 Super Rugby season to provide injury cover for Saia Fainga'a, making 4 substitute appearances during the campaign.
In 2017, he signed for Japanese Top League side Panasonic Wild Knights.
