Cortese is an experienced hooker who has plied his trade all around Europe, playing in the Aviva Premiership for Northampton and most recently Gloucester in 2012. He has also has stints in France with Biarritz and Bayonne. Cortese first made his debut in 2005 and did not play for Argentina again for another 5 years, until he was called up to the South American Championship. After another long spell out of the national side, Cortese was recalled into the Argentina squad for the 2014 Summer Test series.
