King made his Super Rugby debut in 2011, making four appearances in total for the Blues as well as being a regular starter in the ITM Cup for North Harbour. James’ ride in Rugby has been rapid, with a breakout year in New Zealand in 2009. However, a raft of shoulder injuries since has stalled his progress as a Rugby player. Given his training efforts in the off-season, it seems only a matter of time before he displays that same form when many were predicting him as a future All Black. Although James has had limited chances at the Rebels, he has represented the Rebel Rising and has been an outstanding ambassador for the Rebels with regular visits to charities, schools and Clubs. He is passionate about growing the game of Rugby in Victoria.
