At 100kg, Scott represents the traditional openside flanker, with great presence at the breakdown and an immense work rate around the park.
Fuglistaller waited patiently for his Super Rugby debut with his hometown team, Wellington, but seized an opportunity (through injury) to play a starring role with the Otago Highlanders late in the 2012 Super Rugby season.
A New Zealand under 19s representative in 2006, Scott has played 54 matches for Wellington since his debut in 2008.
He looked to be a permanent starter for the Rebels, after the departures of regular openside flankers Michael Lipman, and Tom Chamberlain.
On February 6, 2015, Fuglistaller was appointed co-captain of the Rebels alongside incumbent captain Scott Higginbotham.
Fuglistaller took his skills to Japan by signing a deal with Top League side Toyota Industries Shuttles in 2016, making 4 appearances during that season.
