Busby is one of four referees on the IRFU High-Performance Development Panel.
He went through the USRFR pathway and onto the IRFU National Panel in a few years.
He was the man in the middle for the Spain v Portugal game in the final round of the 2020 Rugby Europe Championship.
In February 2021, Busby reached another significant milestone in his refereeing career when he refereed his first Senior Men’s International match in Madrid.
