In 2005–06 while playing for Old Alexandra, Deacon was named the club's Young Player of the Season. The following season she was named club Player of the Season, while also being the clubs leading goalscorer for the season.
The former Ireland women's field hockey international was named three times as an NFHCA All-American while playing field hockey for Michigan State Spartan between 2007 and 2009. She also won Irish Senior Cup and Women's Irish Hockey League titles with UCD.
Deacon represented Ireland at the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup and was named in Ireland's squad for the 2019 Six Nations.
