Wood started out playing in Auckland in 2014 before heading across the bridge to play for East Coast Bays RFC and North Harbour Hibiscus, for whom she played every game during the 2016 Farah Palmer Cup and where her skilful performances caught the eye of the Black Ferns selectors.
The North Harbour powerhouse joined the Black Ferns for the first time in 2017, making her debut in the second match of the International Women's Rugby Series, helping the team retain the Laurie O'Reilly Memorial Trophy in Christchurch against Australia.
The 2017 Women's World Cup will see her increase her current Test caps of 2.
