Danny Grewcock went on two Lions Tours in his career – in 2001 to Australia and 2005 to New Zealand.
It was on the first of those two Tours that Grewcock hit the heights – starting all three Tests alongside his compatriot and captain Martin Johnson in the second row.
It was a monumental Tour for Grewcock who started six of the ten Tour matches in total but the Lions were edged out 2-1 in the Test series by the Wallabies.
Grewcock – who was cruelly limited to only one appearance during England’s 2003 World Cup winning campaign by injury – was called up again to take on the All Blacks in 2005.
The former Saracens and Bath lock – who won 69 England caps – started the first Test defeat in Auckland.
