Nikola Matawalu - Glasgow Warriors
The Fijian flyer was playing in his secondary position tonight, on the wing. He showed everyone that he is equally threatening to the defence out wide, as he stepped his way over the gainline time and time again. He was a joy to watch all night as he attempted the impossible, keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats. He almost managed to pull off a grubber kick and chase in his own 22 but the real standout moment came when he setup Glasgow’s BP try. He received the ball on his own try-line and proceeded to beat 4 defenders and run the length of the pitch before unselfishly passing to Nick Grigg 5m for the score. His stats of 172m gained, 5 defenders beaten and 2 clean breaks aren’t half bad either.
JJ Hanrahan - Munster
JJ Hanrahan led an impressive Munster win at home to the Dragons. His performance from the kicking tee was exceptional with 100% accuracy. He set up 2 of 7 tries, showing great awareness and accurate passing at key attacking moments. He also controlled the tempo of the game very well and marshalled his backline effectively.
Dan Jones - Scarlets
Dan Jones was the difference today in Scarlets' scrappy victory against Benetton. The outhalf opened the scoring with his first attempt at goal, before adding a try after some flashy footwork. Jones continued to orchestrate his side's attack, as the 10 turned provider for Williams, sending a beautifully weighted grubber kick through for Scarlets 2nd try, which came at a decisive moment in the fixture.
