Top 14 Highlights: Lyon vs Bordeaux

Lyon moved up into third position with a 34-10 home win over Bordeaux in round 24 of the French Top14. Lyon got off to the perfect start with an early try, but Bordeaux pulled three points back with a penalty shortly after. A second Lyon try saw the hosts take a 14-3 advantage into the halftime break. Bordeaux struck first early in the second half with their first try to reduce the deficit to 14-10. Lyon kept the scoreboard ticking over, slotting two penalties to lead 20-10 with around 15 minutes to play. Lyon would finish the match strongly, crossing for two late tries to seal the bonus point victory.

Deon Fourie: Tremendous work rate with numerous carries and a constant threat at the breakdown.

 

Hendrik Roodt: Strong carries and a physical presence, muscled over for the games opening try.

 

Jonathan Wisniewski: Solid tactically with the boot and was perfect off the kicking tee slotting 6 from 6 to accumulate 14 points.

 

Charlie Ngatai: Some great runs in the midfield getting Lyon on the front foot.
