- Gordon Reid – 5/10
Quiet afternoon from the loosehead, making 6 tackles and only carrying twice. Part of a dysfunctional front row at scrum time. Subbed at halftime.
- Fraser Brown – 6/10
Pretty accurate at the lineout, carried well and tackled doggedly. Another part of the dysfunctional front row that was under huge pressure at scrum time. Subbed at halftime.
- WP Nel – 5/10
The third member of a weak front row. Defended hard but failed to lock out the scrum and was also hauled off at halftime.
- Tim Swinson – 6/10
Solid afternoon from the second row. Determined at the breakdown and recorded a perfect tackle success rate. Failed to carry effectively.
- Jonny Gray – 7/10
For the fifth week in a row, Gray was the stand out performer in the Scotland forward pack. He defended brilliantly, making 18 tackles and securing a vital turnover. Also carried well when required.
- John Barclay – 7/10
Got stuck in at the breakdown and was very hard working throughout. Carried very effectively and even managed to bag himself a try.
- Hamish Watson – 6/10
Another solid performance from Watson this weekend. He made 12 carries, 18 tackles and secured a crucial turnover. Solid end to an impressive Six Nations campaign.
- Ryan Wilson – 6/10
Wilson looked to get his hands on the ball as often as possible and carried very effectively when required. Missed a couple of tackles but got through a huge amount of work at the breakdown.
- Greig Laidlaw – 8/10
Laidlaw led the Scottish comeback with great leadership. The scrum-half was imperious from the kicking tee and put in a solid performance at out half when Russell was forced to come off.
- Finn Russell – 6/10
Russell must take responsibility for how the Scottish backline struggled to breakdown a porous Italian defence. The out-half was sent for a HIA with 25 minutes remaining and didn't return to the game.
- Sean Maitland – 6/10
Maitland's try on the hour mark proved crucial to the Scottish comeback. He was exposed defensively at times so a 6/10 is warranted.
- Nick Grigg – 7/10
Grigg was powerful in attack and made yards at every opportunity.
- Huw Jones – 5/10
The Scottish backline lacked fluidity at times and Huw Jones was a big part of this. Poor handling errors halted momentum and the centre was substituted with half an hour remaining.
- Tommy Seymour – 5/10
Scotland struggled to get the ball out wide and Seymour was left tight-lipped on the wing.
- Stuart Hogg – 7/10
The fullback was one of Scotland's leading lights and his try on 70 minutes gave the visitors a foothold into the game. Hogg also gave Scotland decent territory with his useful boot.
