1. Gordon Reid – 6/10

Pretty quiet afternoon for the loosehead. Dealt with the big French front row well and managed to secure a vital turnover inside his own 22.

2. Stuart McInally – 5/10

Accurate the lineout, with Scotland recording a success rate of 89%. However, he failed to make an impression with ball in hand and missed two tackles.

3. Simon Berghan – 7/10

Locked out the scrum well and put his opposite number under more and more pressure as the game wore on. Useful around the park, carrying 9 times for a total of 20 metres. Also secured an important turnover.

4. Grant Gilchrist – 6/10

Very solid afternoon from the second row. Part of a functional lineout and got through a huge amount of behind the scenes work at the breakdown.

5. Jonny Gray – 7/10

The stand out performer in the Scotland forward pack. He defended very well racking up 13/13 tackles and made a couple of nice breaks with ball in hand.

6. John Barclay – 6/10

Defended well and got stuck in at the breakdown as usual. However, he was unable to get his hands on the ball frequently enough and as such could not make any real impact in attack.

7. Hamish Watson – 6/10

Looked to get on the ball often, but was relatively ineffective going forward. Defended well making 12 tackles and got through a huge amount of work at the breakdown.

8. Ryan Wilson – 7/10

The most effective ball carrier in the Scottish pack this afternoon, carrying 8 times for a total of 24 metres. He also recorded a 100% tackle success rate and was dogged at the breakdown. 

9. Greig Laidlaw – 9/10

Marshalled his backline very well and controlled the tempo of the Scottish attack masterfully. Showed exactly why he was picked ahead of Ali Price this week by slotting 8/8 from the tee and ultimately winning the game for his side.

10. Finn Russell – 5/10

A mixed afternoon from the outhalf. Showed some promising attacking moments but cheaply gave away possession and was hauled off after 60 minutes. Also at fault defensively for Teddy Thomas’ first try.

11. Sean Maitland – 7/10

Impressive performance from Maitland who was called in to replace the injured Byron McGuigan. He posed a constant threat with ball in hand making two clean breaks for a total of 48 metres gained and even managed to get on the scoresheet.

12. Peter Horne – 6/10

A quiet afternoon for Horne who was solid but not outstanding. He defended well when required and got stuck in at the breakdown but failed to impact the attacking side of the game.

13. Huw Jones – 7/10

After a poor performance last week, Jones bounced back to put in an impressive display this afternoon and managed to score a very important try.

14. Tommy Seymour - 6/10

In a backline full of attacking threats Seymour was quiet and failed to have a huge impact on the game. However, he was solid in defence completing 4/4 tackles.

15. Stuart Hogg - 7/10

Hogg had his usual game full of attacking flair. He carried the ball 13 times for a huge return of 120 meters and was pivotal for Scotland going forward.
