ROUND 3 HIGHLIGHTS: Sunwolves v Rebels
- 1614
The Sunwolves battled well in this match with some early injuries forcing them to play flanker Tokunaga playing most of the match on the wing. The Rebels took an early lead with Jack Maddocks and Amanaki Mafi both dotting down inside the opening 15 minutes of the match. Will Tupou pulled one back for the Sunwolves with a well-read intercept, as the two sides went in all square at halftime. Sefa Naivalu scored early in the second half before Jack Maddocks completed a fantastic hat-trick. The Sunwolves have a good spell of possession inside the Melbourne Rebels 22 and finally went over the line with a brilliant set piece move between Eddie Quirk and Fumiaki Tanaka. Quirk went from hero to villain in the final play of the game as he was judged to have prevented a Rebels a try with an attempted intercept, which saw him get a yellow card and conceded a penalty try.
