Quins make four changes for Trailfinders

Harlequins have made four changes ahead of their Friday night cup clash against Ealing Trailfinders at the Stoop (7:45pm).

International centurion Leigh Halfpenny is named at full-back for the Premiership Cup clash, while the electric Nick David returns to the starting XV on the wing.

The pack is bolstered by the experienced Joe Launchbury starting in the second row - Will Trenholm also comes into the side at flanker for his first appearance this season.

The front row remains unchanged as Wyn Jones, Sam Riley and Will Hobson all retain their place and George Hammond is named at lock.

Tom Lawday will skipper the squad at openside, plus Archie White shifts to number eight to complete the pack.

Quins’ half-back pairing remains unchanged. After impressing against Scottish last week, Lucas Friday will make his first senior appearance at the Stoop alongside Jamie Benson, who’ll be aiming to maintain his 100% success rate off the tee.

Bryn Bradley and Will Joseph will pair up in the centres once more, while Cameron Anderson shifts to the wing for the visit of the Trailfinders.

The hosts have opted for 5-3 split amongst the replacements which features the returning Nathan Jibulu, Tom Osborne, Simon Kerrod, Harry Browne and Lucas Schmid.

Scrum-half Jake Murray, utility back Sean Kerr and two-time try scorer versus London Scottish, Hayden Hyde complete the matchday squad.

Head Coach Danny Wilson said: “We’re looking forward to running out at the Stoop on Friday night to face a full loaded Ealing side that’ll be full of confidence following their victory over Saracens. Last year they had a positive experience in the competition too reaching the semi-final stages.

“Our matchday squad has a great blend of experienced professionals who have played at the elite level of the game, and a group of younger players that have a desire to be in the frame for selection every week. I’m excited to see how our different combinations perform and front up to the challenge.”
