Mitre 10 Cup HIGHLIGHTS: Manawatu v Tasman

A well fought match between these two sides with Manawatu running the Mako close throughout. Jamie Spowart scored a superb try from a scrum inside the first 10 minutes of the match before Sam Malcolm responded for the Turbos just 5 minutes later. Levi Aumua powered through the Turbos defence on the half-hour mark as Tasman looked to take a 14-5 lead into the break. The Turbos, however, had other ideas with Mike Alaalatoa scoring 2 minutes after the siren. Will Jordan made an immediate impact off the bench, 8 minutes, after the break scoring a try with his first touch of the ball. After a number of penalties against the Turbos, they went down to 14-men and Tasman wasted no time punishing them with Mitchell Hunt exploiting a gap in the defence to extend the lead to 14 points. Michael Tagicakibau's try gave the Turbos a sniff at the win with 15 minutes to play but Mitchell Hunt converted a penalty to give Tasman a 19-29 win.
